The Democratic Party have resisted to endorse the GOP spending plan unless lapsing medical assistance that they say many working families rely on are extended.

Republicans expect the opposition to approve a short-term bill beforehand and then they can negotiate the support payments.

If this continues for another week or two, the bottom line is US citizens are being harmed, US residents are being influenced by this and a leader needs to do something to be the grown-up in the negotiations.

I think sometimes legislators are so far away from ordinary citizens, the common folk living their lives, so they don't remember what the struggle is like and I believe they must take that into consideration, particularly if it's a large number of US citizens that are without income.

That's a significant number of people missing wages, that's a lot of citizens failing to contribute their money toward the economy. Americans are just being harmed.
